Handm@de Winchester was lots of fun yesterday! I saw lots of old faces from the previous Handm@de fairs, including Monda, Fabric Nation, Quercus Silver, Moments By Martha and Twinklyspangle who I shared a stall with… It was nice to meet lots of other great new people too, including Raspberry, Coco Crafts, Tomatotea, Swell Vintage, Beads by Sam, Coco Crafts, Half an Acre, and finally our neighbours Hung, Drawn and Quoted, and Nimu Yarns and their gorgeous baby! Sadly this was my last Handm@de fair for a while because of the move, but there are more planned in Oxford and Cambridge later in the year. See their website for more info!

Here are some photos from the day…

I was so busy taking pics of other peoples stalls that I forgot to get any of my own! Duh. So here’s one taken by smokingdrum!

Thanks again to Alice for organizing such a great day!

Handm@de Cambridge – success!

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

All of the preparations paid off and Handm@de Cambridge was a success on many levels! Organized by the lovely Deepa of Lazy Giraffe, it was a great day. There was a queue of people outside before the doors opened, no doubt eager to get their hands on a goodie bag… While not seeming as busy as the Oxford fair, probably due to that one being held just before Christmas, there was a steady stream of visitors all day and lots of money was changing hands! I shared a table with Rose from Felt Giraffe and we had lots of fun.

It was nice to see lots of the Oxford sellers again – Cloudhopping, Quercus Silver, Twinklyspangle, Yunisacs and Moments by Martha were all on fine form – and I met lots of lovely new people too, like Hannah-Chan, Helena Carrington, Fabric Nation and Strikk. I had a great chat with Jon and Sarah from The Lapwing Printworks about letterpress (oh how I want one), and Xtina Lamb was lovely and kept lending me her Gocco guide when people asked what Gocco was (note to self – make one of these!).

Here are some of my photos from yesterday, check out the Handm@de pool at Flickr for more!

Cloudhopping – always one of my favourites :)

I was very strong and managed to resist spending all of my money on lovely things – but I did buy my dad a belated birthday present – a lovely hand-turned wooden bowl by Turned and Twisted. And I won a lovely little Yunisacs pouch in the raffle!

After having such a great day I decided I definitely want to do the next Handm@de fair which is in Winchester on July 5th. I’ll hopefully be sharing a table with Twinklyspangle.. So put it in your diary now!
